Strange days my friends, strange days indeed. We've uncovered some information related to today's events that you might find interesting, and decided to post it to Event Team: Broadcast Depth before it was deployed to DN1 and in Flash Traffic.

There's more to come folks, so enjoy!

Code Bombings Resume
Code bombings have resumed yet again across the Mega City. A man bearing an eerie resemblance to the recently deceased Morpheus has been reported in connection to the current bombings. Speculation runs rampant on the origins, identity, and motivation of this man.

More troubling yet is the fact that the Assassin has put in an appearance at the site of every code explosion to date, with the apparent intent of discovering the source of the bombs. As always, the Assassin is unwilling or unable to answer questions, leaving many puzzled by the Exile’s behavior. Organizational leaders advise caution if you are approached by the Assassin, as the Exile has proven extremely dangerous when provoked.

Imposter Agent Problems
Recent days have seen a renewal of attacks by the Red-Eyed Imposter Agents that have plagued the Matrix off and on since the Truce. While their ultimate plans remain ambiguous, their immediate intentions are clear: They are tracking some form of “unauthorized code” and plan to eliminate any potential carriers of said code. Operatives are encouraged to travel in groups to help minimize the danger posed by these Imposter Agents.

Do you have a theory? Do you think you've got it all figured out? Take a read, and post your thoughts here!

Cheers!

Really can't say enough about the good work you're doing, Aether. It's this kind of thread that shows how dedicated the developers and the LET are, and everybody appreciates it greatly.

Thx for the update Ęther I've heard of such Assassin attacks and his total dominance on all would be attackers. I hope to bump into him in a dark fly infested allway :)

I hope the Flash traffic feature is fixed I have some Faction mates with update Flash traffic, but myself and quite a few still have Flash traffic from early June showing up.

Methinks some of the clues lie in the notable silence of Persephone :) But I won't say any more, i just like planting seeds of possibility and seeing where other people take them :)

I have to admit, this is very interesting so far. It was interesting to watch the Assassin run in after the code bombs, searching for the source before hyperjumping away. Eventually we got him cornered, and I got a good 5 hits on him for ton of damage (hit him with dev field for about 1000, and 3 hits of logic barrage/blast, and a nice little spray in the eyes with some insecticide spray :))

Fun fun so far!

i enjoy fighting with the Assassin, he can play with you, then BOOM! Deadly Aura.. 9,989 damage last time. weird to see the LED Agents again, what part do they play in this i wonder.. also seems the Machines are sort of working together with Zion to get rid of the Assassin. Also i would be very excited to see that Morpheus is back with a vengance and planting the code bombs in a show of

" you think you could stop me? "

awesome, jaws would drop.

;)

Vague pictures of this Morpheus impersonater has identified him as "Ndengi" In oceanic mythology he is the god of night, and when he slept day became night. (This information was relayed to me by another operative, so I am not taking any credit for the discovery)

Morpheus was as many know connected to dreams in mythology and it has led to my beleif, among other things, that Ndengi is a Morpheus supporter/copycat, even fanatic, carrying on his works. He may even have more people behind this goal as we all know Morpheus had a lot of support in Zion, and was for many much more than just a captain. We could see a faction of fanatical and dangerous Morpheus supporters if we are not careful. If I had to guess I would also connect him to the news paper clipping on Sarah Edmontons.

There was also a sighting of the assassin placing a bomb on the Method instance of the Matrix, although this could be confusion on the part of onlookers. Perhaps he was as always, simply looking into the source of the bombings. This could put him at odds with Ndengi. Then again the assassin is looking to end the matrix and used irresponsibly, the code bombs could indeed destabilise the whole system.

The Red Agents seem to be seeking the kill code retreived from Neurophyte, which we know to be deadly to them when weilded correctly. Perhaps this is the reason, either way the red agents seem to be only a tool of a greater power. Hopefully we will find out more about their goals in due time.

I will continue peicing together the parts of the puzzle as we learn more an will be very interested in the events awaiting us.

Since my comp has crashed and I cant enjoy this event I can only hope that the LED agents aren't part of the Mervs plans. It could be possible that the assassin is using the LED agents to "Recycle" subroutines that should have been turned over to him after one of the events, ie the PDAs.

Not to complain too much, and I know you guys work hard on all this stuff, don't think I don't apreciate it...but some of the promises the Live Events Team made at launch have yet to be fulfilled. First is the problem with the events being incredibly ambiguous while in-game. After each event, and during, I check DN1, and what I read there makes no sense compared to what was going on in game. I didn't see or hear of any of this stuff happening in the last couple weeks. Except for the "Potential carrier" stuff. But you know what? None of it makes any sense in game. Sure, "Target sighted, eta 30seconds" is great! Because then I know exactly what to do to participate in the event. (/end sarcasm) Information is the currency of the Matrix, so give us some. Second is the promise to hold events at ALL TIMES OF THE DAY OR NIGHT, so that players who live in different timezones, or work strange schedules can participate. You have no idea how many times I've come on line, right after work, and been told that I missed a meeting with Morpheus, or that the Assasain was "just here" or that some chick is going to die if I don't send an e-mail. You guys made a lot of promises at launch, and all through BETA, lets see you keep some of them, please. I hate being frustrated with the live events, because I really do love this game. (oh yeah, and is the World Events "thing" in-game ever going to work properly, or be updated?)

hello Aether,

I'm posting this to help aid anyone who is lost and doesn't have as much time to ponder this stuff as I do and to also let you know the directions that I'm going with some of these event happenings...
Also, maybe this will spark some ideas and someone will be kind enough to help me out with what they've found :).
Anyways, there is nothing too sensitive in this post, I feel, and don't mind helping some people in the community get a start if they're lost and not knowing where to start.

Assassin:
I think he is rattled by the appearance of the morpheus look-a-likes and is trying to catch one to find its source. On who hired the assassin...I cannot say any more.
I've found that there is more than one Morpheus look-a-like. All of their names have similar meanings to that of Morpheus...which is quite clever I might add. So apparently, there is a network of Morpheus clones out there interested in carrying on his work for unknown yet reasons. The motive behind their actions could either be:
-led by Morpheus whether he gave the order before the assassin's attempt or from an undisclosed location in the Real
-led by either the leader of the Masked Men, whomever that is..., and they are trying to shake things up with whomever wanted Morpheus dead...making them think he's alive still.
-led by Niobe in order to flush out whomever ordered the hit on Morpheus

as far as the helicopters crashing go...either:
-there was no helicopter crash and it was a bluepill witnesses way of explaining a code bomb due to the explosion...thus no helicopter remains
-someone was piloting a helicopter under the influence and ran into someone else...:P

Masked Men:
-there is alot of small connections that I found linking them to various people/places/companies...no more on that, too sensitive. But have the LET feel free to contact me about this info as I feel it is correct and on point with their motives.

Imposter Agents:
I think they are looking for the Neo code that is inside of someone that doesn't know they have it(morpheus's speech). The leader of the red-eyed agents was able to create N3O Agents and is probably looking for the most important part of the code in order to finish what they started with the shapers...

Thats all I can say without giving any important information away..hope this helps anyone. BTW, all I wrote is purely speculation and should be taken as rumors.

Hm, I may step on some feet here, but has anyone from the output community experienced some of those event-ish things in an agreeable time-frame on our server yet? A simple yes would suffice. :\

Today's questioning of the Assassin after the appearance and witnessing of one of the code bombers revealed that he is indeed targeting them, and not helping with the bombings.

Hey, wait. You know what I realized right now? Remember how Neurophyte killed the red-eyed LED agents with her 'killcode'? It seemed as if the connections of the LED agents to the Matrix has been severed or disconnected...

Disconnecting machines. Neo could do that too. Remember the Sentinels? He disconnected them too. What if Neurophyte kinda found that distinct part of Neo's code in the real world? The killcode is able to disconnect Machines from the Matrix/the Source. What if that's what the General with his led agents is behind?

(Btw have you already thought about the possibility that the led agents with their red eyes might have Real World counterparts like actual machine bodies? Red-eyed sentinels anyone? What if the General has lots of those Sentinel AI's to boot to red-eyed agent status because he commandered them during the Siege of Zion?)

"Questioning" of the Assassin? You're saying he stopped for a press opportunity?

Again, the entire MxO Community appreciates the dedication to a good story that the LET provides! Cheers!

Code Bombings might be part of the effect of a new splinter Zionist organization.

Imposter Agents.... Well, I'm still wondering when the General is going to show up. I think that's where these agents come from..

Love the game,

-Midori

Alright, the dude who put the bomb on the ground in my opinion needs to change his wardrobe. You just need the jacket and you'll look just like Morpheus. As for the Assassin, he helped out a lot of Mervs last night, but he still wont say who he works for, he'll just shrug.

Anyhow, How the heck can sony even think about geting rid of the LET?? Honestly, have they even played this game during and event!?! You guys are what make this game so damn cool!!!!
